Yesterday marked a significant milestone for the City of Watsonville as community leaders, project partners, and stakeholders gathered to celebrate the ribbon cutting ceremony for the long-anticipated Zone 2 project, an infrastructure achievement more than six years in the making.
Clark Bros., Inc. proudly delivered this critical project, reinforcing the city’s water infrastructure and supporting long-term reliability for the community. At the heart of the project is a 1.94 million gallon prestressed concrete potable water reservoir, designed to enhance storage capacity and system resilience.
In addition to the reservoir, the project included extensive upgrades and improvements such as site grading and paving, yard piping and utility connections, and modifications to the Airport Booster Pump Station. Electrical and instrumentation systems were also modernized, ensuring efficient operation and monitoring. The work concluded with full system commissioning, bringing the entire facility online and fully operational.
The ribbon cutting event provided an opportunity to reflect on the collaboration and dedication that made the project possible. Clark Bros., Inc. expressed sincere gratitude to the City of Watsonville for their continued partnership and trust throughout the process.
During the event, attendees had the opportunity to meet Mayor Kristal Salcido, who joined in celebrating the project’s completion. A guided tour of the facility offered a closer look at the infrastructure and innovation behind the new system.
The success of the Zone 2 project was also made possible through strong collaboration with key partners. Cannon provided essential construction management support, while Carollo Engineers contributed thoughtful and effective design expertise.
This milestone project stands as a testament to what can be achieved through teamwork, careful planning, and a shared commitment to community infrastructure. Congratulations to all involved in bringing the Watsonville Zone 2 project to life.
