At Clark Bros. Inc., looking out for one another means more than jobsite safety. It means building a culture where our people know they are valued, supported, and never alone.
Being Your Brother’s Keeper: A Commitment Beyond the Jobsite
Looking Out for One Another Is About More Than Jobsite Safety
At Clark Bros. Inc., we often talk about the importance of being your brother’s keeper. In construction, looking out for one another is an essential part of keeping our teams safe. But that responsibility goes far beyond physical safety on the jobsite.
Being your brother’s keeper means caring about the people we work alongside, checking in on one another, and recognizing that everyone may be carrying challenges that we cannot see.
Safety Goes Beyond the Jobsite
Construction safety has always been an important part of who we are at Clark Bros. Inc. We train our employees to recognize hazards, communicate with their teams, and look out for the person working beside them.
But safety is not limited to preventing an injury on the job. It also means paying attention to the people around us.
A coworker may be having a difficult day, dealing with challenges at home, or simply struggling with something they have not shared with anyone. Sometimes, taking a moment to ask, "How are you doing?" can be just as important as any other safety conversation.
Coming Together as a Team
During Construction Appreciation and Suicide Prevention Week, our office staff and field crews had the opportunity to come together over appreciation lunches. These gatherings gave our teams a chance to step away from the normal workday, share a meal, and spend time together outside of our everyday responsibilities.
While the lunches were an opportunity to show our appreciation for our employees, they also reinforced something that is important to us as a company: our people matter.
Building strong relationships with the people we work with creates opportunities for meaningful conversations and helps remind us that we are part of something bigger than ourselves.
A Culture of Looking Out for One Another
Being your brother’s keeper means being willing to notice when someone may need support. It means checking in, listening, and letting the people around us know that they do not have to face everything alone.
We may not always know what someone is going through, and we may not always have the answers. But we can be there. We can start a conversation. We can listen. We can encourage someone to reach out for help when they need it.
These small actions can have a meaningful impact.
Our Commitment at Clark Bros. Inc.
At Clark Bros. Inc., we believe taking care of one another is more than a safety practice. It is part of who we are.
Being your brother’s keeper means looking out for each other on the jobsite, at home, and everywhere in between. It means creating a workplace where our employees know they are valued and where asking for help is never something to be ashamed of.
We are proud of the teams we have built and grateful for the employees who continue to look out for one another every day.
Because at Clark Bros. Inc., safety is more than getting the job done safely. It is making sure our people know that they matter.
