Karl Braun joined Clark Bros., Inc. (CBI) in 2019 and currently serves as Director of Estimating. In this role, Karl oversees the entire estimating department, managing staff development, bid strategy, RFPs and proposals, contract review, client relationships, and business development initiatives. His leadership supports CBI’s operations across a diverse range of markets, including public works water and wastewater projects, renewable energy civil subcontracting, EPC projects in solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), and high-voltage infrastructure.

Since joining CBI, Karl has played a key role in driving the company’s significant growth, over 300% expansion to date, by implementing disciplined estimating practices, fostering team excellence, and contributing to strategic business objectives.

A civil engineer with more than 27 years of experience in heavy civil construction, Karl holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Marquette University. His extensive expertise includes project management, cost control, bid analysis, scheduling, safety, field supervision, quality assurance, and large-scale infrastructure planning and execution.

Prior to joining CBI, Karl spent 17 years in field and management roles, advancing from field engineer to project manager while leading complex civil projects across 12 states.

Karl’s technical proficiency spans excavation and earthwork, bridge and foundation construction, concrete and steel structures, drainage and utility systems, marine and renewable energy infrastructure, and large-scale demolition and site development.
