
Karl Braun
Karl Braun joined Clark Bros., Inc. (CBI) in 2019 and served as Director of Estimating before being promoted to Vice President in 2026. In his expanded leadership role, Karl oversees the company’s estimating operations while broadening his focus to include strategic growth initiatives and the pursuit of new project opportunities. He plays a key role in shaping CBI’s bid strategy, strengthening client relationships, and leading efforts to secure work across the company’s diverse markets.
Karl continues to guide the estimating department, overseeing staff development, bid strategy, RFP and proposal preparation, contract review, and coordination with operations and business development teams. His leadership supports CBI’s work across public works water and wastewater projects, renewable energy civil subcontracting, EPC projects in solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems (BESS), and high-voltage power infrastructure.
Since joining CBI, Karl has been instrumental in supporting the company’s significant growth, contributing to more than 300% expansion, by implementing disciplined estimating practices, building a high-performing team, and aligning estimating strategy with the company’s long-term business objectives.
A civil engineer with more than 27 years of experience in heavy civil construction, Karl holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Marquette University. His extensive expertise includes project management, cost control, bid analysis, scheduling, safety, field supervision, quality assurance, and large-scale infrastructure planning and execution.
Prior to joining CBI, Karl spent 17 years in field and management roles, advancing from field engineer to project manager while leading complex civil projects across 12 states.
Karl’s technical proficiency spans excavation and earthwork, bridge and foundation construction, concrete and steel structures, drainage and utility systems, marine and renewable energy infrastructure, and large-scale demolition and site development.
